A Way To Deal With A Blind Pimple Properly

By Alison Graham

A blind pimple looks somewhat like a boil as it doesn't come to a head and it remains below your skin's surface. It is usually red in color, has no pus and may vary in size. These blind boils are due to overactive sebaceous glands that lead to too much production of sebum. Your skin is unable to handle this and the pores get blocked. The blocked pores attract inflammation causing bacteria which causes infections, causing soreness as well as redness. It's important to get a treatment for blind pimples to clear them.

Within this sort of pimple there isn't any head to allow pus caused by the deep seated infection to empty. The very best blind pimple treatment is salicylic acid, which is very effective in shifting trapped sebum to the surface of the skin. A wide range of creams and lotions can be found that contain this ingredient.

To get rid of a blind boil, you need to turn it into a pustule (a pimple full of pus). One method to do this is by using a cotton bud dipped in hot water placed on the affected area. Application should be repeated several times. In some cases, this procedure by itself is sufficient to cause the pimple to start to clear up on its own without creating any head. There are also natural home remedies that can help to clear this kind of pimple; for example, honey is a natural antibacterial agent, famous for its healing properties. All you need to do is to apply a dab of honey in the same way you would apply cream to the affected place.

If your pimple does not clear up and does not come to a head, you can help this process by steaming your face over very hot water as this helps the pores to open up. Use a tissue over your fingertips to allow you to firmly press on either side of the blemish without fear of your fingers slipping. If it will not pop immediately, leave it alone and repeat the process the following day. The reason being that trying too hard to squeeze spots that are not ready to 'pop' may end up with you causing a scar on the skin.

As with all types of acne, prevention is better than cure! In order to prevent this type of blind pimple, you may want to look into the possible causes more closely. A healthy diet is the starting point. Cut out the junk food and fatty, processed foods and replace these with fresh fruit and veggies, lean meat and lots of water. Not only will your skin look better and fresher, you will feel much better.

Another factor that will help in addition to the treatment tips outlined above would be to leave your skin clear of make-up for at least one day each week. It is certainly true that a few cosmetics and skincare products can actually trigger skin problems as well as irritation. If you have really sensitive skin, stick to a mild facial wash and warm water and use a light, fragrance-free moisturizer.
