2 Most Common Types Of Acne On The Planet

By Sean T Saunders

Millions of individuals have acne. The fact is, it's estimated that around 80% of men and women between the ages of 13 and 30 are experiencing some type of acne. What exactly do I mean when I say "some type"? Exactly that -- that there happen to be different types of acne which people can experience and not merely one generic kind of acne.

You will find distinctive & defining features with every type of acne. Some cases can be mild, some cases are severe, and there are even a handful which CAN'T be treated using homemade remedies and will have to be treated by using prescription medications. The one thing that they all have in common though, is that they all are visible and TREMENDOUSLY embarrassing. This is due to the fact that all types of acne are accompanied by unsightly facial blemishes; be it zits, redness, cysts, pustules, swelling, or some other disgusting blemish.

Acne Rosacea - This kind of acne shows up as a rash or red area on the skin. This is usually found in older people past their 30's and not typically with younger teens or young adults. The treatment method for this type of acne is actually different than for acne vulgaris.

Acne Vulgaris - It doesn't get any more common than this. If you've got acne, there is about a 75% chance that this happens to be the kind you have. It comes with the typical black heads, white heads, and those horrible zits. The most extreme types of acne vulgaris can carry along cysts as well as nodules which appear beneath the skin. This here is your garden variety acne and it may be treated with at home cures, changes to your diet, natural remedies, and in many cases with a reliable over-the-counter acne removal cream.

When you have mostly white heads and/or black heads -- meaning your type of acne most likely falls under the vulgaris category -- you should stick to using the usual home acne remedies. If you're affected by acne rosacea on the other hand, then you will probably have to start employing "specialty" treatments; the sort which are known to be effective for getting rid of acne rosacea.
