Seeking Helpful Home Remedies For Pimples?

By Alison Graham

If you have problems with acne (frequent, extensive breakouts of pimples) or simply have one irritating pimple that will not disappear, you might have tried numerous over the counter cures and even prescription medications. It might be frustrating and difficult when even these types of strong treatment options don't work. Probably it's time to return to basics and try a few natural home remedies for pimples. You probably already have most of the ingredients inside your store cupboard or refrigerator; everything else is easily obtainable to purchase from nutrition stores or grocery stores.

A simple but effective home treatment solution for pimples is produced by pounding orange or pomegranate peels and blending them with water. Use the mix to the skin for about half an hour. Substitute the water with lime juice for an even more effective treatment.

Mix three teaspoons of dried basil leaves with one cup of water and boil it for 20 minutes. After allowing it to cool, use the concoction to your pimples and then leave it for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Crush fenugreek leaves and add just enough water to create a paste. Apply the paste on the affected skin before going to bed and rinse it away with hot water first thing the following morning.

A lot of people swear by rubbing raw garlic on the pimple many times throughout the day, making claims that it clears up the skin. Another technique to use garlic to take care of pimples, which is less smelly, is to eat three raw garlic seeds, that purify the blood, every day for a month.

Grate cucumber and place it on the pimples, then rest for 15 to 20 mins. If you do not have cucumber, rub raw papaya juice or ripe tomato pulp over the skin.

A pimple zapping juice could be made from mint or coriander. Mix one teaspoon of coriander juice or mint juice with a pinch of turmeric powder. Apply the juice to the infected area before going to bed, after completely washing the skin.

Add a little ground nutmeg to a cup of raw milk and mix properly. Apply it to the affected area and then leave it for several hours. This method is believed to reduce the look of acne scars as well as treating current pimples.

Sprinkle a generous helping of Epsom bath salts into hot flowing water and soak in the tub twice per week to help you get rid of acne and pimples.

Along with these natural home remedies, many people find adding certain nutritional vitamin supplements to their diets reduces the appearance and seriousness of their pimples. Niacin, Vit. A, Vit. E and therapeutic zinc are considered to have a positive effect on pimples. Talk to your doctor if you've any pre-existing health issues or need further advice about taking vitamin supplements.

Whatever pimple treatment you find successful, be sure to look after your skin to keep it clean, fresh and pimple-free. Drink plenty of water and stick to a nutritious, well balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and veggies. Keep processed foods, caffeine and alcohol to a minimum if you would like great skin.
