Acne Removal Remedies - Best Methods For Better Looking Skin

By Sean T Saunders

In many countries in the world above eighty percentage of all teenagers get the bacterial skin disease also known as acne and one percent of adult men and five percentage of adult women may be affected by the adult onset variety of acne. Acne skin problem usually arises when the sebaceous glands underneath the skin produce excess amount of sebum oil, a natural material that exudes out of the pores and helps to lubricate the skin layers and keep it supple. If excessive amount of sebum oil is secreted it can mix with dead skin cells and other material and plug up the skin pores above hair follicles.

Clogged up pores in your skin could make the skin surface feel greasy and also produce spots called blackheads or whiteheads to appear. These tend to be concentrated over the upper chest area and back of your body and also on your face for the reason that this is where most of the sebaceous glands on your body are concentrated. Most of the spots will clear up on their own but some of them could get infected by bacteria which live on your skin. Inflammation and swelling on the surface of your skin may cause pimples and pustules and if the skin inflammation takes place in the deep inner layers, it could cause the formation of painful cysts.

You can accomplish acne removal from your face and body if you have a basic knowledge of what is causing the skin disease. If your mother and father had acne then you probably will get it too because genetics and heredity have a lot to do with the health of your skin. Teenagers going through adolescence and pregnant or menstrual women usually suffer a higher incidence of acne problem because under these circumstances your body produces more amount of the male testosterone hormone. This prompts your body to make excess sebum oil and that often leads to blocked pores and an acne break out.

Acne removal and control should focus on three different areas. The first area to look at is stopping new outbreaks by controlling sebum oil production and bacteria on the skin. Secondly it is important to reduce and control soreness in acne swellings which are already there. The third thing to do is to make sure that the acne inflammations do not become serious enough that they can cause permanent scarring of the skin. Acne removal begins by cleansing the skin to get rid of any excess sebum oil, dead skin calls or other impurities that may cause skin pores to get blocked.

Benzoyl peroxide is a topical exfoliating agent and antibacterial that will remove a thin layer of dead skin cells and sebum oil to stop skin pores becoming clogged and simultaneously destroy bacteria which causes acne infections. Many pharmaceutical over the counter preparations to treat acne have benzoyl peroxide. This ingredient can infuriate the skin cells in few people and if this happens then a good alternative is azelaic acid which is easier on the skin. Retinoids such as tretinoin are skin care substances based on vitamin A which are helpful at detoxifying and unplugging skin pores that are blocked.
